Sponsorship Fees

There is an incremental increase in fees each year. For 2018 costs range from:

To attend the local, non-boarding primary school, $300 per annum. This includes all school fees, daily lunches, and school requirements such as stationery and books.

The cost of attending primary boarding school, Star Education Centre, $900 per annum includes board, school registration and fees, uniforms, and all personal requirements such as mattress and bedding, hygiene products, and cleaning products. These fees and inclusions are the same as those attending the Panyadoli Secondary Boarding School.

For the children who display higher academic abilities and are attending A-Levels, the equivalent of an Australian college, in Kampala, the cost is $2400 per annum. This includes all board, lodgings, school fees, uniforms, etc.

All sponsorship fees and payments are tax deductible. A tax receipt is provided to all sponsors.

Donations and Fundraising

As YSF is a small, voluntary charity, we have no funding support apart from the generosity of sponsors and those making one-off and regular donations. We are very grateful for donations to support the educational program, and we also fund-raise.

As 100% of sponsor money goes toward educational expenses only, Young Seeds requires funding to pay the wages of the two local coordinators, medical expenses for children in need, provide food for the children whilst on school holidays, and assist in the transport of some children during school holidays. We have recently built a strong, sturdy, two-room house for children to live in whilst on school holidays. Prior to this, the children were living in a hut with a collapsed roof. At this time, children are sleeping on mattresses on the floor of this house, as Young Seeds are currently unable to fund the cost of providing bed-frames for the children.

 One-off donations and fundraisers help to pay for projects such as this, as well as other incidental costs associated with assisting children to complete their education, as well as organisational registration fees, telephone and technology costs, and the provision of communication supplies that assist Young Seeds to communicate with coordinators and families supported by Young Seeds.
